Corporate Technologies Honored in Third-Annual MSPmentor 250 Report and Ranked on the 2010 Inc. 5000 List

Dan Rosedahl, General Manager of Corporate Technologies’ Minneapolis office has landed on Nine Lives Media Inc.’s third-annual MSPmentor 250, a global report that identifies the world’s leading managed services executives, entrepreneurs, experts, coaches and community leaders.

“MSPmentor congratulates Dan Rosedahl and all of the experts identified within the MSPmentor 250 report,” said Amy Katz, CEO of Nine Lives Media Inc. “We hope the MSPmentor 250 serves as a global Rolodex that allows MSP industry leaders to quickly network with one another.”

The third-annual MSPmentor 250 report is based on a global survey of MSPmentor readers, conducted from May through July 23, 2010. The resulting report represents MSP experts in North America, Europe, Australia and emerging managed services markets across the globe. The complete report is available now at http://www.MSPmentor.net/top-250-people.

Corporate Technologies was also ranked on the 2010 Inc. 5000 list.  Published by Inc. magazine, the annual Inc. 5000 is an exclusive ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. The list represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy—America’s independent-minded entrepreneurs. Corporate Technologies was ranked at number 2,364, with 106% sales growth over the past three years.

Is your business taking advantage
of the Cloud?
by Dan Rosedahl, General Manager
Corporate Technologies' Minneapolis office

One of the hottest terms in current computer-speak is “the cloud” – used especially to hype products to the hip.  “You ought to buy this service because it’s in the cloud.”

A service “in the cloud” simply means a service done over the Internet.  The metaphor comes from doodles of a computer attached to a squiggly cloud representing the outside world.  The cloud is seductive because it simplifies “outside complexity.”  The implied message is “Just connect to the cloud and you’re in business.”  “It’s all taken care of.”

Of course, outside complexity must be taken care of by someone and you usually pay a price – measured in dollars, security, speed, trust, convenience, and control.  The prudent user must decide when it’s worth it.

Google and Yahoo search engines are in the cloud, as are street address mapping services.  Businesses technology needs from monitoring, upgrades, spam filtering, to keeping your data safely secured off site, can be served in the cloud.

If you haven’t already, consider moving certain aspects of your technology service and support to the cloud. Ask your Account Manager today what cloud options are available; very likely you will realize savings and superior support.
